Channel letters have all the same benefits to your business as dimensional letters, with the additional benefit of being internally illuminated, so you get maximum impact both day and night. Visible by day, luminous at night, channel letters are one of the most popular and effective ways to identify your business. These signs can easily be seen by day, and by night these signs really come to life. If you've ever driven past a strip mall at night, then you're probably familiar with the effectiveness of channel letter signs. Channel letters are typically fabricated from aluminum sheet metal, formed into three dimensional "channels", which can then accommodate internal illumination provided by either economical & versatile neon units, or energy efficient LEDs. There are three common types of channel letters: Standard, Open and Reverse. Standard channel letters are illuminated from the front. Standard channel letters utilize colored acrylic for faces, with colored trimcap attached to a painted aluminum channel. Open channel letters are manufactured just like standard channel letters, but utilize clear acrylic faces to expose the neon units that are installed inside of the letters. Reverse channel letters (often called Halo-lit) are illuminated from behind, halo lighting off of the surface of the building that the letters are attached to.
